THE #BLACKISBEAUTIFULPROJECT VOL. 1
This was in support of #BlackLivesMatter, which campaigns against violence and systemic racism towards Black people. This project highlights the beauty of Black people, explores style, and various forms of Black identity. Research points out, A Washington Post-Schar School poll released found that 69 percent of Americans say the death of George Floyd in the custody of Minneapolis police last month, reflects a broader problem in the way black people are treated by police, compared with 29 percent who say it was an isolated incident (Washington post).
While the Black is Beautiful movement started in the 1960s, the fight for equal rights and a positive perception of African-American beauty still remains.
